Come out for a fun day to learn about and support our winged night friends.
The MidWest Bat Fest is coming to Onondaga Cave State Park!
Saturday April 11th 6:30 pm
Sponsors: Onondaga Cave State Park and Onondaga Friends Association will host this event, which is coordinated and sponsored by the World Bird Sanctuary in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Conservation, the Missouri Bat Census and Missouri Department of Transportation.
Many thanks! to all of the organizations and speakers making this event possible, and for the grant funding for Incredible Bats, which is through Public Lands Every Day (part of the National Environmental Education Foundation) and Toyota. :-)
Join us to help clean up winter's trashy wanderings from the park's roadside. The Friends group will supply hot dogs (and veggie dogs) and a few extras for lunch. Meet at the Visitor Center for a short safety video and to get vests and bags.
Glove supply is limited; please bring gloves if possible. Wear sturdy boots or shoes and dress for changing weather conditions. If you want to do more, there are other areas of the park that could use a litter clean-up. (573) 245-6576

Onondaga Cave State Park, in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Transportation and the Missouri Department of Conservation, will host an April Trash Bash event as part of their ongoing No MOre Trash statewide litter campaign.
In 2005, the park adopted a three mile stretch of Highway H just outside the park boundaries to assist these agencies cooperatively and keep unsightly litter from building up along the roadways. The public is invited to assist in this adventure!
Meet Riley the Bat, Chief Executive Bat at Onondaga Cave. Riley has learned a lot, hanging out in the cave and in the forest too! Keep a look-out for Riley; you never know where he will pop up! And, if you spot him first, you may win something! You can find him on Twitter now. https://twitter.com/rileythebat
